Hi Jennifer,
     Yes, I have done some spray metal with SLA patterns.  We have pretty much 
discounted this process because of its limitations to part geometry.  
Thin ribs, bosses, etc. do not work well because the spray cannot get 
into the small orifices.  In cases where part geometry is right for spray 
metal, I can typically machine solid aluminum as fast or faster.
