Dear RP-world,
     Those of you who have been wanting to see some press about our 
field may be interested in the article that I wrote for "Technology 
Management," a journal published by Elsevier. It's called "Automated 
Fabrication: The Freedom to Create," and it's about how the proliferation 
of fabricators in the 21st century will give individual people the power 
to create tangible, material objects at will, and how this will radically 
change manufacturing. It's in Vol. 1, #4 (1995).
     Technology Management is a new journal, and it may not be easy to 
find in your library just yet. The publisher will be sending me 1,000 
reprints of the article, and I'd like to offer to send it to anyone on 
this list if you will send me a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (U.S.$0.55

     This article is based on the talk I gave for an AlliedSignal 
conference last July, and I thank Cliff Ballard and the AlliedSignal crew 
for the inspiration.
     Also coming up soon, a much wider-circulation article: "Futurist" 
magazine, by the World Future Society, is preparing to publish an excerpt 
of the parts of my book that cover economic and sociological implications 
of automated fabrication. I'll let you know when that's out.
