Dear RP World,
Thank you to all the people who sent envelopes to get a copy of the article in Technology Management magazine. I hope you enjoyed it. This has given me another idea that may be of interest to the folks who are interested in attracting attention to our field in the press.
We recently got an inquiry from a television reporter that wanted to do a piece on automated fabrication but couldn't afford to send a camera crew out here. So I got together with a friend of mine in the video business (It helps to live near Hollywood!) and he made a broadcast-quality tape for me consisting of the three television interviews I've done recently, together with some of the raw footage from one of those interviews and footage showing an SLA fabricator in action. In the interviews I show and explain several different models made in the SLA, the LOM, the Solider, and the Soliform, and talk about the advantages manufacturers and other professionals are realizing by using fabricators. We sent this tape to the reporter to use in his story.
It occurred to me that if there are people out there who are trying to attract attention to this field, you might find it helpful to have a tape like this that you could lend to local television stations or show at meetings or seminars. My video friend has offerred to do copies of this tape at a very reasonable price, in either 3/4-inch (broadcast quality) or VHS format (including PAL for Europe). If anyone would be interested in this, please send me some e-mail and I will respond with a message giving more details on the contents of the tape and the cost.
