To all RPers.
We just started beta testing a STL viewer from Solid Concepts. The program
is called SolidView. I don't want this to sound like an advertisement, but
this is by far the best STL viewer that I have personally seen not counting
CAD packages. It runs on a PC running Windows with Win32s for 32 bit
addressing. We are currently running it on a 486DX2 with 16meg of RAM and
1meg of VRAM. The speed is astounishing.
The goodies:
1. Open and work with multiple STL files at once. Output multiple STL
files into one STL file.
2. Display the object as wireframe with triangles or a shaded image. The
object is easy to work with as a shaded image.
3. Rotate, zoom, pan the object with ease.
4. Measure the object such as vertex to vertex or angles.
5. Display surface area and true volume.
6. Move, Translate, Rotate, Align, Scale, Mirror, and convert between MM
and Inches.
7. Cut the object into two sections. A previewer will show exactly where
you are going to plane cut.
Well, I'll get off the soap box. I was very impressed with this package.
