WILTON, N.H. (June 1, 1995) -- Sanders Prototype Inc.,
developer and manufacturer of  PC-based three-dimensional
model making systems, has received a total of $1.8 million
in equity financing, including an initial $1 million from
Baxter Healthcare Corporation.  Baxter Healthcare is the
principal domestic operating subsidiary of Baxter
International, Inc., a  leading manufacturer and worldwide
marketer of health-care products and services in nearly100
countries. Baxter's sales totaled $9.3 billion in 1994 with 
a positive cash flow of $954 million.
 John Gaither, corporate vice president of business
development and strategy, said  "Baxter Healthcare's
investment was prompted by the potential of Sanders
Prototype's high resolution  3-D modeling systems in the
healthcare field".

 Mike McEvoy, vice president of Baxter's Advanced Design
Center , a rapid protoyping pioneer, said  "Sanders high
resolution models are a significant process improvement and 
are ideally suited for medical applications". Sanders Model 
Maker is a desktop PC-based system that enables intricate
models to be fabricated directly from computer aided design 
programs (CAD) and other computer generated sources. The
systems are accurate to within one-thousandth of an inch and 
feature surface qualities up to ten times smoother than
competitive systems. It employs non-toxic materials that do 
not crack or break ceramic shells used in the investment
casting process.
 Headquartered in Wilton, N.H., SPI  has
offices/representatives throughout the United States. The
companyO model making systems are used in a  variety of
industries including aerospace, electronics, automotive
parts manufacturing, tool and die casting, jewelry design
and manufacturing, and medical applications.
