Our institute - BIBA - is involved in a EU - funded RP project for the 
european automotive industry.
For them, we are currently building a "Rapid Prototyping System Selector" 
on top of a standard database system.
Basically, this is a computer-based decision support system using a 
generic value analysis method.
The Selector is one of the final actions in the project. The data within 
the application is based upon a number of benchmark tests performed by 
the automotive partners with different RP methods (SLA, SLS, FDM, LOM, 
SGC) and follow-up methods like vacuum casting.
