Subject: large scale layer building
I am interested in hearing from researchers or manufacturers who
have used layer building techniques using relatively thick layers for
building large objects.

At the Queensland Manufacturing Institute, we have been trialling
the building of large foundry patterns from layers of about 10 mm thick
M.D.F. These assembled layers are hand finished to form the required
pattern. We have also used water jet cutting of sheets of lightweight foam
to layer build shapes.

I am interested to hear from anyone else who is working in this area.
