Prashant,

I am sitting here looking at the latest brochure from BMP and other than
list the 5 planes of movement, little is stated about capabilities.
I do have two small parts from them. They are white in color where past
models have been green. The surface finish on the straight walled parts
are very smooth. On the space shuttle I see other variation of the surface
such as up facing and down facing areas. This is probably from the ironing
that flattens the surface.

The models are open hatched and I have no idea of build times.
Using this technique I would suppose that they built within several hours
(2-5). The build bed is 10" x 8" x6" so you can build fairly large parts.

I looked for a BMP owner to speak at Autofact but could not locate an
acutal owner. Since Sferro of Ford is quoted on the brochure
I would suspect that Ford may have the first machine. Actual performance
is yet to be seen and since seeing is believing....the jury is still
waiting for the case.

With Sanders,3D, and now BMP putting a desk top into the market,
1996 should prove intersting for many hesitant RP users. I can't wait to
hear how users will react to fine, highly detailed models that are really
quite fragile. I still cringe when I remember ole 5081 models and
watching my work shatter in someone's hands. The trash can seems like a
waste to me.

Elaine
