Here is a quote from a ProE users.....

PTC announced Windows 95 support in August of this year. But
I have no knowledge of whether it works well or not. If it
runs similar to NT, it's going to be slow. Running Pro/E, the
NT stations are slower than most older Unix workstations with less
floating point performance.
PTC and it's workstation vendors have put quite a bit of effort
(and dollars) in tweeking the software for performance. A similar
effort has not been done for the NT systems and it shows...

We run ProE on dec alpha's (not an Intel platform mind you). They run circles
around the Suns we retired. It was a major productivity increase to be able to
integrate the design process with the Microsoft suite of office products (word,
Excell, Mail Etc). When you create a drawing note file you use Notepad not the
piece of garbage VI for example. These might be a little slower than an SGI but
you can buy 2 - 4 Alphas for the price of one SGI with almost the same
performance. Needless to say we are happy with this set for now.
