To all,

In rev 17 of Pro/E the angle control for some reason has the reverse effect from what the manual says.

Subject: Bad .STL files in R17

Hello, fellow users -

In the three days since we loaded Pro/E R17, we have seen two major
problems with .STL files. By major, I mean it takes a body to sit down and
poke through the Angle control settings one by one until you finally get a
good file (bad file = diameters/conics with poor faceting or sometimes
added "prisms" in the holes). The problem doesn't happen in R16.

I sent the file to PTC (and I am going to send every damned file that shows
up this problem). The guy I spoke to yesterday at PTC said that, since I
had found a workaround, this probably wouldn't be a high priority, probably
wouldn't even get fixed in the next release.

This has the potential to triple or quadruple the effort required to get a
good .STL file, and I told him so, but he said, "I just know how it works
around here, and it probably won't be a priority".

At the least, be aware of this significant problem. If you have any
suggestions, please let me know.
