Dear Wei-Meng,

The old Mark 1000 fabricator by Quadrax Laser Technology used a
visible-light resin. The technology was transferred to 3D Systems in 1992
after a patent dispute which, as far as I know, had nothing to do with
the type of resin. I think the original resin was made by DeSoto (now DSM
Desotech, which is involved in a partnership with JSR on making resins
for the Sony JSC), and ICI Resins was planning to make resins for it
before the machine was discontinued.

I am curious as to why you believe people want to get away from UV
resins. My understanding is that some Denken users have had trouble with
their resin curing by ambient light.

Best regards,
Marshall Burns
