Re: Thin Walls in FDM

HI Everybody

I am getting quite a few models to prototype on FDM with thin walls, say
about 0.5 - 0.75 mm thickness with a vertical height of around 50mm -70mm.
These walls on the prototype are some what weak. Often, they get damaged
while removing the supports and repairing them is a quite a tiresome job.
Some times I find that a layer or two have not been deposited properly
giving rise to a bad surface finish.

Has anybody among the FDM users in the RP community
attempted doing similar models? Please let know about the problems you
have faced and how they were eliminated or circumvented. Also, what is
the least possible wall thickness in FDM ?

        My thanks in advance !

regards

nagendra
