I thought SolidWorks was ParaSolid (Unigraphics?) based and not ACIS, though
I know AutoCad is ACIS based (and also not seriously considered for 3D solid
design). I believe ParaSolid is the faster and more robust kernel, though
ACIS recently released it's new and improved version 2.0
