--My advise is to benchmark those using laarge files. I mean laaarge files!
On Alphastations, the chip processes fast, ok. It might go up to 700MHz (I heard).
Once the data is needed out of the chip, (ports, graghic cards) things realy slow down (I heard)!
Tip: check for a chip on a optimized arquitecture like SGI.
