My advise is to benchmark those using laarge files. I mean laaarge files!

On Alphastations, there is this chip that processes fast, ok. It might go up to 700MHz.(I heard)

Once the data is needed out of the chip, (ports, graghic cards) things realy slow down! (I heard)

Tip: check for a chip on a optimized arquitecture like SGI.

I'm not sure, but I think, diference is not using a serial bus.
