Date: Fri May 30 1997 - 04:31:13 EEST

The Society of Automotive Engineers will host a "CE Marking Seminar" from
9:00 am to 4:00 pm on June 6, 1997, at the Doubletree Suites in Southfield,
MI. "CE Marking" is the manufacturer's or exporter's mark of conformity
declaring product compliance. The use of the CE Mark is now mandatory for
most electrical products and machinery sold in Europe.

Representatives from Klockner Moeller will serve as seminar faculty, and
will relay how manufacturing professionals can receive the CE Mark for
their products. These experts will also explain the relationship between
ISO and CE, as well as identify organizations which perform the CE Mark
certification.

SAE's goal in presenting this seminar is to respond to the auto industry's
needs in a global market. The knowledge of the certification process will
facilitate the sale and shipment of products into the European market.
SAE's Machinery and Equipment Electrical Standards Committee is currently
developing a common standard to be used for the design and application of
electrical equipment.

This seminar is targeted to manufacturing professionals interested in
expediting their products into Europe.

For more information or to register, please contact Margaret Schwartz, SAE,
at (810) 649-0425 x3128. Seating is limited so early registration is
advised.
