The 2 techniques (RP & CNC milling) are not always at odds. Several of my
customers (CNC machine shops) regularly use SLA models of complicated valves
prior to attempting to cut metal. They feel that cost savings in set up times
& possible missed operations (when quoting jobs) has more than justified the
nominal costs for a model.
