One solution to the delivery of pieces(when not intended), that was suggested to
me by an investment casting mold shop. They have a similar problem when shipping
wax patterns. The problem is exacerbated by cold temperatures. They suggest
using fiberglass insulation bats as dunnage. This has the added benefit of
providing some thermal insulation as well as shock protection. Just is nasty
stuff to work with, but we put up with worse on occasion in this business.
