I disagree to some extent, we have had success importing Alias into CATIA
for machining and CAD/CAM.

Evans and Sutherlands CDRS is probably a better freeform tool than Alias for
Pro-E.
CAMAX Camand also is a very powerful surfacing package that can be used to
clean up files for importation into Pro-E.

Alias, like CATIA can be difficult getting closed surfaces and volumes. In
