Make sure that the FACETRES variable setting is adjusted before
exporting the STL file.
By help menu definition FACETRES variable "further adjusts the
smoothness of shaded, rendered, and hidden line-removed objects. Valid
values are from 0.01 to 10.0."
Default setting is 0.5. Try 8 or 10 (depending on the level of detail
on the part). That should fix it.

For IGES outputs there are many more possibilities to do it "right" or
"wrong". Your customer should play with the "Edit Options" in the
"IgesOut" dialog box and make sure he is exporting surface entities. He
should also check-off export of unnecessary entities like saved view
names, UCSs, dimensions, etc if they are not needed.
