The 1997 report focuses on geographic regions in the world where there is
the most RP activity. Consequently, it does not include a lot of
information on Latin America. It reports that at the end of last year,
five systems total were installed in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay,
combined. I would expect sales growth in these areas to at least double
this year.

If others are interested, Rapid Prototyping State of the Industry: 1997
Worldwide Progress Report focuses on new applications, developments, and
trends in RP, rapid tooling, CAD solid modeling, and 3D printing. The
96-page report includes 27 charts and graphs, 12 tables, and 14
photographs. The table of contents is available by e-mail upon request, or
you can review it at http://lamar.colostate.edu/~wohlers.
