Digibotics Laser Digitizing Teams up With Invenio Engineering Services

Austin, TX, September 28, 1997: Digibotics, the leading manufacturer of fully automated 3D Laser Digitizing Systems, and Invenio Engineering Services, a full service design engineering and rapid prototyping facility, have recently set up a Time Compression Technology, Sales and Service Center in Novi, Michigan. The office will provide superior services utilizing state-of-the-art hardware and software such as the Digibot II laser digitizer from Digibotics, LOM rapid prototyping technology from Helisys, and Surfacer software from Imageware. With a large professional design and development staff, the center provides service work as well as on-site demonstrations of Digibot technology. The objective is to provide total "rapid product development" solutions for design engineering and manufacturing.

"The combination of Invenio's engineering services and Digibotics' accurate scanning technology facilitates our mutual goal of helping customers increase productivity and reduce time to market," states Stephen Koch, President of Digibotics. "This agreement also reflects our commitment to provide top quality scanning services and make our products more accessible to the automotive, engineering and manufacturing facilities in this region."

This expansion allows both companies to better identify and respond to their customers’ specific engineering project needs. By working with leading CAD/CAM, Rapid Prototyping, Verification, and Analysis suppliers, Digibotics and Invenio continue to develop and support complete solution packages.

About Digibotics: Based in Austin, Texas, Digibotics produces the DIGIBOT II 3D Laser Digitizer, a high performance 3-D input device that combines laser ranging technology and personal computing. Using four-axis scanning capabilities, the DIGIBOT provides a fast, simple, and accurate way to copy or inspect complex, sculpted surfaces. By measuring sequential points and producing a standard list of x/y/z coordinates, the DIGIBOT interfaces to any CAD/CAM/CAE imaging or animation software that reads 3-D points, contours and triangular facets. The Digibot II can be used in many industrial and academic applications involving 3-D design, inspection, replication, analysis, visualization and animation. It automatically outputs a variety of file formats including IGES, VDA, DXF, OBJ and STL, as well as point cloud data.

Digibotics has authorized service facilities in Austin, Texas and Novi, Michigan as well as various other satellite locations worldwide. Digibot technology will be on display at Autofact 97 in Detroit, Michigan from November 4-6, Booth #1059. The Digibotics web site is located at http://www.digibotics.com.
