(AUTODESK)(ADSK) ADVISORY/Autodesk Makes Commitment to Girls and
Technology; Design Your Future Passport Designed to Spark Young
                  Girls' Interest in Math, Sciences

ADVISORY...for Tuesday (Oct. 14)

What: Autodesk Inc. has developed a program driven by Chairman and
CEO, Carol Bartz, called Design Your Future: Math, Science and Technology
for Girls. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities to young
women so that they can become aware of, explore, and pursue math, science
and technology-based careers.

To launch the initiative, Autodesk developed the Design Your Future
Passport targeted for elementary school girls. The Passport is a tool to
introduce girls to the wonders of technology, math and science by providing
interesting activities for the girls to experience and write about, and
will be distributed nationwide.

In addition to the Passport, Autodesk will launch a website
(www.autodesk.com/girls) that will serve as an online resource for girls to
visit and learn about other interesting programs. We expect that the site
will be used as a jumping-off point for girls to explore more deeply into
technology, math and science.

When: October 14, 1997, 10:00 a.m. -- 11:00 a.m.

Where: Katherine Delmar Burke School

7070 California Street (at 32nd Avenue)

San Francisco

Why: Women are dramatically underrepresented in the technology
industry. In the rapidly growing technology industry, only 10-30 percent
of programmers, engineers, or managers are women, and those numbers are
unacceptable. Autodesk does not want young girls to be left out of the
technology revolution because they lack fundamental skills or interest in
math and science. Our goal with the Design Your Future Initiative is to
open girls' eyes to the wonders and fun of math and the sciences.
