With the ability of many RP systems to rapidly produce models or
patterns, there is a need to quickly verify that the models/patterns
produced were correctly produced. For some models/patterns, this can be
very simple. For others (e.g., a pattern with intricate internal
passages), the post build inspection process can take more time than is
required to build the pattern.
An alternative means of verifying the model/pattern would be to perform
an automatic in process verification. This might add very little time
to build the model/pattern, but would allow certification that the
model/pattern conforms to the input 3D CAD file.
My question is, if an inprocess verification could be accomplished with
very little ( < 10%)additional time to build the model, is this a
feature that the RP users would want.?
