     Hello Al...
     
     Try to be a little more specific. There is nothing typical
     particularly if you are a service bureau.
     
     However, with DTM's RapidTool #1 metal there is a point of diminishing
     returns. The weight of the iron powder upon itself, and due to the
     light tacking together of the powder, can cause sinking. We have
     built RapidTool molds 3.5" in the Z and found very minor cavatation.
     Fortunately, the area was on the mold parting line where we allowed
     machining stock.
     
     We anticipate DTM's new RapidTool #2 will substantially reduced this
     issue. Their new materials are processed in the sinterstation with a
     binder between the spherical metal powders eliminating the oven drying
     step.

I am interested in the typical weights of the models/patterns that are
made with either the DTM or EOS SLS processes when metal powders are
used as the "build" material. It would appear that a model made
anything close to the maximum size would be extremely heavy.
     
Your feedback would be appreciated.
