Companies Identified Across the United States by National Study
Deloitte & Touche LLP announces the fastest-growing technology companies in
the United States for 1997 as determined by its national Technology Fast 500

Phoenix-based Integrated Process Equipment Corp. (IPEC) won first place with
an astounding revenue growth increase of 71,136 percent, while second- place
winner Cascade Communications Corp. (Ascend) of Westford, Mass., also
experienced hypergrowth with a 41,686 percent five-year growth rate increase.
Growth rates ranged from 71,136 to 485 percent, with the average growth rate at
