During it's Annual General Meeting, The Laboratory to Advance Industrial
Prototyping will host a morning of technical presentation on February 19,
1998, from 8:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Speakers will include Mr.Paul
DeCelles from the University of Mass/Lowell. Mr Decelles will present
"Rapid Tooling Options for Injection Molding". Mr. Cliff Ballard of Allied
Signal's Powder Injection Molding Group will discuss the new metal and
ceramic powder materials for Direct AIM. These new materials are low
pressure, low temperature, water-based powder injection molding
formulations. Mr. Eric Whitney of Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory
will present "Freeform Fabrication of Structures Using a High Power CO2
Lasers". Dr. Amod Ogale, Professor Chemical Engineering, will present
""Rapid Composite Tools Using Stereolithography"" and Dr. Said Ahzi,
Professor Mechanical Engineering, will discuss "Characterization and
Modeling of the Thermo-Mechanical Response
of Cured SL5170".
