AIM Tooling -Reply

I have processed material with a melt temperature of 200 degrees
Celsius in an AIM tool.

The biggest problem is not the pressure but the Injection speed and the
ejection of the part as the material will handle compression but not sheer.

This means that on gating and thin areas with sharp corners chipping will
start. An accurate shot size and moulding parameters are required
before setting up as short mouldings place undue stress on the AIM tool.

What material were you thinking of processing ?

David
