We did tests with the FDM ABS with several foundries here in Germany and
France. The result was that it is nearly as good to burn out as the
polystyrene from the EOSINT machine, which is the preferred rp-material
of most investment casters here.
You also have to finish it in the same way to get a tight surface a good
surface quality. Most of the casters succeeded in burning out the
material. Further the residual ash content is very low and didn't cause
problems.
