Apologies, one of the URLs in my previous message about the STEP
standard was wrong; it should have been vendor.html, not vendors.html:

   http://www.scra.org/pdesinc/stepnet/vendor.html

Thanks to Bert VandenBerg for pointing out the error.

This is the site that gives the status of various STEP translator
implementations. Note that some third-party (non-CAD) vendors have
developed translators, including Theorem Solutions who have
translators for Autodesk Mechanical Desktop already.
