VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS
We are seeking a VP of Operations for a start-up company in the San Francisco
Bay Area. This company has developed a revolutionary approach to orthodontics
that provides a faster, less painful, and more aesthetic treatment than
conventional orthodontia. The leading equity investor is Kleiner Perkins
Caufield & Byers, one of the country’s premier venture capital firms.
The VP, Operations will report to the CEO and will manage a staff of 30 plus
CAD/CAM technicians involved in rapid prototyping. This person will establish
a cost effective, high quality, repeatable manufacturing process for high
volume, yet custom, products. The VP will be responsible for outsourcing
manufacturing activities and all vendor negotiations. S/he will oversee
procurement, logistics, QA and transportation and will be responsible for the
oversight of manufacturing, engineering and production for all products.
We are looking for a leader in the operations or manufacturing arena with a
track record of successfully scaling up the manufacture of disposable Class I
or II medical devices or related consumer products. Exposure to stereo
lithography, fused deposition molding and other applications would be ideal.
Experience managing a staff is necessary. An undergraduate degree is
required; an advanced degree will be considered a plus.
