Z CORP. DEBUTS ROBUST NEW MATERIALS SYSTEM

Somerville, MA- Today Z Corporation, manufacturer of the Z402(TM)
System, the world's fastest 3D printer, announced the commercial release
of a new materials system that makes parts far stronger than ever
before. The system had been in development and beta testing for several
months, and attendees of recent trade shows have already seen the
results of the new materials-concept models so strong that they can
support the weight of a person. Parts made with the new system can be
sanded, painted, drilled, tapped and finished in a number of ways.

Many of Z Corporation's current customers are already making use of
these stronger parts. Whirlpool is sanding and painting their new
strong parts and incorporating the parts into full-scale mock-ups for
new refrigeration products. A California-based design company,
ExpressCAD, used the robust Z402 parts to produce metal parts using sand
casting and was able to bring a product from concept to manufacturing in
just ten days.

The key to the new materials is the use of a resin, ZR10, which
infiltrates the part during post-processing. ZR10 takes just minutes to
apply using a simple hand-held applicator and cures in 20-40 minutes,
depending on the size of the part. The other materials used to create
parts have been reformulated to optimize their performance with ZR10.
This resin is based on a cyanoacrylate, a type of adhesive commonly
found in many home and industrial applications. The idea for this new
resin actually came from a Z Corp. customer in the field who was
experimenting with ways to make his Z402 parts more robust.

Z Corporation will be demonstrating its revolutionary new
office-compatible Z402TM 3D printer on May 20-21, 1998 at the Rapid
Prototyping & Manufacturing Exposition. This event will be held at the
Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan where Zcorp. will be printing
demanding parts and handing out samples at booth #138. The system was
most recently featured in the Microsoft booth at the National Design
Engineering Show in Chicago and in the Parametric Technology booth at
the Society of Automotive Engineers Show in Detroit.
