A Solid State UV laser for Stereolithography normally produces a
wavelength of 355nm. Most resin companies have tuned a resin to this
wavelength in order that depth penetration can be controlled to avoid
print through. One laser company is now selling a 500 mw solid state
laser. Another company has been testing a 3 watt UV laser for the past
year and a half and has informed AAROFLEX that they have completed Beta
testing and that it is now ready for the market. More power means more
speed and greater throughput for the industry.
