Further to your message of 18/6/98 re. suitable methods for reproducing an interlaced, tubular structure with 100 micron min. internal diameter, there are some questions I would like to ask:

1. What material is required? (Firstly for modelling, secondly for any application purposes)

2. What overall physical size is required? (1:1, scaled up section, etc.)

3. Is the tolerance needed a definable entity? (i.e. must it be to within 0.0005" per linear inch or "just as good as skilled users of RP systems can make it?)

With regard to the differences between the Actua 2100 and the MM-II, the Actua is marketed as a concept modeller, whilst the Sanders MM-II is a high precision RP system, capable of layer thicknesses as fine as 0.0005" (125 micron).

We use a number of different RP systems at LIP, in conjunction with an experienced skill base of materials finishing, replication and conversion developed over 20 years.
