We worked on a project here at Kodak last summer. The Project manager
sent me a letter of thanks at its conclusion, here are some of his
quotes......
"I would estimate that the use of SLS and SLA for actual functional
parts saved the project about 3 to 6
months in cycle time and about 2 to 3 million dollars in EWO and Tooling
rework THAT WAS NOT SPENT."
"Of course, there are several limitations in the physical
characteristics of the proto parts (heat and humidity resistance,
strength, and static properties...) but these can be worked around and
the benefits far out weigh the limitations."
"The project is on plan for delivery in April of 98 and mechanically we
are ahead of plan. In actual fact, all but 4 of our molded production
tools are completed and to date we have had less then 20 k in rework
(1%). This is a direct result of the value that your group provided!"
