Hello all,

I've just joined the list and thought I'd better introduce myself and my company.

We are a mold toolmaker who got into RP two years ago. We have an SLA350, Vacuum casting and Pro/Engineer in the RP
department. We are very interested in things which will speed up the mold tool manufacturing process and provide prototype
tools quickly.

We've looked at DTMs RapidTool process and 3D Keltool and both seem to have limited benefits (every time we've sent an
enquiry to 3D they have said the part is too big, too complex or some other reason. DTM metal parts are too rough - if
you're going to spend ages finishing it you may as well CNC and/or spark erode it in the first place). We have just got high
speed CNC machining and this seems a better bet to us at the moment.

Any comments?

I run the SLA machine and Pro/Engineer. I do a lot of 2D to 3D conversion, IGES to Pro/Engineer to STL and a bit of product
design (I'd like to do more). I used to work for an SLS bureau with a DTM Sinterstation.

Anyway, I better ask the question which was the purpose of this E-mail: is Stan talking about SL5510 or is there another
resin coming out that we don't know about in the UK?

I'd also like to know if anyone can tell me how good the Pro/Engineer Interface for Catia module is. Will models always come
across as solids or would we be wasting our money?
