When Kamesh Tata wrote our adaptive slicing software several years ago all
our models were build on Clemson's SLA-250. But of course we have made
fiber composites (Renault) in our machine, done the first automated
support structures (Kirschman), Automatically packed a SLA250 vat,
Automatically oriented parts (Franck). Makes me proud of our students and
their pioneering work. Now we can vary the Laser power during build using
a SLS machine which could easily be converted to any General Scanning system.
oh forgot I have built parts where the layer being built is ALWAYS flat...
so their is NO stair stepping...Who knows what will be next.... Maybe my
5k machine?
