In fact I think that there is no standard part like nasa part for milling.
Each of the machine manufacturor has create his own part in order to
calibrate his own machine.
A couple of years ago I tried to define some standard parts in order to
evaluate the accuracy for dimensions and geometry of layer-manufacturing
parts, and we applied Taguchi approach for evaluation of stereolithography
SLA-250.
If interested by the paper we published in Stuttgart some years ago, please
let me know.

I can also mention that, in the past, IMS project defined two test parts in
order to compare the performances of layer-manufacturing technics.

At present, we are looking for defining such a part with also a process to
measure the part, using (why not ?) a laser-based sensor.

I am interested by all the replies you should receive.
