questions on direct selective laser sintering

rp-ml,

I am a research assistant at the University of Rhode Island currently
doing work in RP. We currently use SLS to create green bodies from
ceramics coated with a binder, then use furnace operations for
sintering and infiltration.

My questions are in regard to direct SLS of ceramic bodies without the
use of binders. First, what types of ceramics have been or are
currently being used with direct SLS? Second, how porous are the
structures that come out of the SLS machine? Can they be fully dense
out of the SLS machine or is sintering in a furnace used for full
densification?

Thanks in advance for your help.
