a proud RP moment

Every now and then things happen and you stand back and think WOW.
For those of you who do not receive MECHANICAL ENGINEERING I will tell you
about an article in the publication and why I am so happy to see it.

Bioengineering was the reason Clemson purchased a SLA system way back in
1989. After a few years of building prosthesis it became apparent that we
should be able to build structures to grow genetic material thus producing
inplantable devices. It seems that Molecular Geodesics of Cambridge Mass
and Advanced Tissue Science of La Jolla, CA are doing this today. In
addition to building structures they are producing biocompatible materials
to be used in the manufacture of not only prosthesis but replaceable skin,
organs, and other tissues.

I wondered if I would ever see this in my lifetime and now I know the
answer is YES and even more incredible is WHAT else will I live to see RP
bring into our lives. You can bet I am dreaming of more good things that
RP can and will do for mankind. Maybe even gnats.

Elaine
