Ambiguous Measurement terminology

I have read with some interest the number of replies relating to the
ambiguous measurement terminology. I note that they all lack the one
definitive rule of thumb which is related to the following equation;

"Rack Back on 2, Brick on edge, level with the crown of the road".

If this simple equation is applied to all measurements, you will find
it should remove all ambiguity.
