Dear rp-ml:

Just received some literature on a hand-held laser scanner by Polhemus Inc.
(www.polhemus.com). It looks interesting; the system price is $29,995 for
the hand-held wand unit and the processor unit with the tracker transmitter,
receiver, and software. The accuracy doesn't seem all that great however,
depending on the wand-object range, they claim it typically is +/- 0.040
inches at 8 inches distance (using the transmitter as reference).

Anybody out there using one of these units? and if so, how do you like it,
pros, cons, etc.

Thanks,

Glenn Whiteside
