DeskArtes introduces Expert Series Software

STUDIO CITY, CALIFORNIA: March 25, 1999: DeskArtes - North America, a
division of NEST Technologies, Inc., announced today the first two
products in the Expert Series product family. This new software
addresses the growing need to communicate CAD model data among
engineering professionals and others involved in the product development
process. Expert Series is created exclusively for Windows 95/98/NT,
expanding on DeskArtes' mature family of CAD viewing, repair, and design
products.

The first new product, View Expert has been designed for anyone needing
to deal with three-dimensional CAD data. Rather than requiring expensive
and difficult-to-use CAD systems, individuals in engineering,
prototyping, tooling, purchasing, marketing, and sales can now view CAD
models at the click of a button. Besides viewing and shading, View
Expert also enables one to clip into the model, obtain its measurements,
print and e-mail STL model data, as well as cut and paste model
information to other Windows applications.

While other companies charge hundreds of dollars for similar software,
DeskArtes is making View Expert available free of charge - no strings
attached. "We are happy to be the first company to offer advanced 3D CAD
viewing software at no cost." said Ms. Maria Nordgren, CEO of DeskArtes.
"We hope that this offer will help accelerate the acceptance of 3D model
data also among non-CAD users", Nordgren added.

Optional features that enhance the capabilities of View Expert include
IGES & VDA-FS viewing as well as various model verification features.
The software identifies errors or problems in the model, such as gaps
and overlaps between surfaces, as well as checks for parting lines and
draft angles. Using these tools the CAD designer can detect the mistakes
prior to sending data to downstream applications, such as manufacturing
and rapid prototyping.

3Data Expert is DeskArtes' solution to accurately create faceted STL
models from IGES and VDA-FS files. The software also detects and
automatically repairs various mistakes in the model. Other functionality
of the 3Data Expert includes positioning and scaling of models,
splitting large models into parts, adding pins & holes, combining models
with Boolean operations, offsetting single surfaces into solid sheets,
hollowing parts, and reducing the triangle count in STL models.

"The increasing popularity of using STL data for applications such as
FEM analysis and CNC machining puts higher demands on the data quality
than ever before", notes Nordgren. "Instead of manually fixing the
models, engineers can save days of work with our automatic data
translation, faceting and repair solutions."

Basic version of View Expert software is available at no charge. The
registered version offering upgrades, technical support, and ability to
add optional features is priced at $195.00. View Expert for automatic
verification & repair of STL files is priced at $985.00

Both View Expert & 3Data Expert are available for downloading from the
Internet at http://www.deskartes.com. 30-day evaluation license to test
all features of View Expert and 3Data Expert is available upon request.

These powerful and easy to use products will be demonstrated in Booth
319 at the Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing Show in Rosemont, IL on
April 20-22, 1999.
