High speed machining from STL's

RP-ML'ers:

I know this has been discussed before...and I DID try the rp-ml archives...but,

I'm looking for some good feedback on high speed machining off of STL files.
Is DeskProto the only software available that is generating cutter paths off
STL's? Any others people would comment on?

Second, I'd like some feedback on some of the new materials from Ciba and US
Gympsum. I only had a second or two at the RP show to see them. How do they
machine? The resultant part - how accurate, how stable, etc.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
