We have processed a range of both thermosetting (e.g. EPDM, silicones, etc.) and thermoplastic (TPE) materials using the LIPTOOL(TM) process to provide real parts in production grade elastomeric materials.

Our suggested route would be:

1. Produce CNC / RP master pattern (probably via SLA or Sanders for buttons I would guess?)

2. Pour LIPTOOL to form tool

3. Mould real parts in material(s) of your choice

A recent project involved a customer who was looking to replace a silicone material used for making cellphone keypads with a clearer grade of TPE - in this instance we were able to use the existing silicone component as the master pattern.

If you would like us to produce a sample for you at an introductory academic rate simply send us a zipped binary STL file and we will provide a quotation.

Hi rp-ml

Has anyone used any of the elastomeric materials to fabricate soft-feel
buttons for electronic appliances (calculators, computer games, etc.)? Does
it work? I have an application where I need to make some buttons that are
unusual shapes and want to know the best way to do it.
