Rapid Manufacturing Consortium
De Montfort University has established a Rapid Manufacturing Consortium with
a number of major European companies. The object of this consortium is to
co-ordinate the teaching, training and research activities to meet the needs
of the member companies in the area of Rapid Product Development and
Manufacturing. This will involve organising and delivering the academic and
research activities of the consortium.
We have two posts available on three Year fixed term contracts.

You will require extensive knowledge of Rapid Product Development processes
such as CAD, Virtual Reality, Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Tooling, etc.
Previous research in this area is essential and experience in teaching on
postgraduate and undergraduate courses would be an advantage, it would also
be highly desirable for you to have a PhD. Experience in concurrent
engineering, product testing would also be an advantage.

In addition to the above you must have a PhD in an engineering subject, be
able to develop postgraduate and undergraduate courses and be able to
communicate with senior management in companies of all sizes. A proven track
record will be expected.
