A 15th century Michael Rees?

Elaine,

Your beautiful story about Albrecht Dürer inspired me to look him up on
the Internet. A bio at http://sunsite.auc.dk/cgfa/durer/durer_bio.htm
doesn't corroborate the story you posted, but it and a briefer account at
http://www.dartmouth.edu/acad-inst/upne/s9615a.html describe him as a
groundbreaking artistic user of print-making. Thus Durer, although your
story about him may be apocryphal, may not be that off-topic to our group,
as he could be seen as a 15th century version of Michael Rees, champion of
new technology in the arts. By the way, the "Praying Hands" drawing may be
seen at http://sunsite.auc.dk/cgfa/durer/p-durer48.htm.

Best regards,
Marshall Burns
