It was started by Andre Dolenc of DeskArtes, a Finnish fabber software
company, back in about 1994 or so. I think he was a PhD student at the
Helsinki University of Technology at the time. It was an innovative idea at
the time. It was certainly my first introduction to the concept of an e-mail
list. I've been on and off of several other lists since then, but now this
is the only one I participate in.
Many people share your gratitute to Andre for starting this list, as
well as to Hannu "Rapid Dude" Kaikonen for carrying it on.
