Mira,
We have recently produced Die cast inserts for Zinc (Zimac 3) using Rapid
Steel 2.0. We do not currently use aluminum. We have had great success using
this approach and hope to expand on it in the near future.

Subject: aluminum die casting tools?

Does anyone have experience using RP methods to make aluminum die
casting tools (for short runs)?

In particular I'm interested if anyone has used the DTM Sinterstation,
EOS EOSINT M, or 3D Keltool process to make aluminum die casting tools
and what was your experience. Is there any difference between the DTM
process and the EOSINT M? I have already spoken with the various
company representatives and people at our company using the laser
sintering process for plastics and sand, but I'm very interested to hear
from anyone with experience (good or bad) using these or another process
for die casting tools.

Thank you so much!

Mira
