Remember the old Maestro is not being upgraded for Y2K. You can also buy I
good PC to run Light year on for about what maintenance cost on a SGI. I
now have most of the kinks worked out with Lightyear. Setup and slice time
are much faster. I still use Solid View also for some part orientation.
Once you get your styles and recoats where you want them, all you do is
orient the parts on the build, make and edit supports, then hit prepare. No
spreadsheet needed. Besides the style, recoat issues and a much needed
build time estimator, I think 3D Systems has put out a pretty good piece of
software.
